Booking & Tickets

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. We recommend booking your swim session online in advance to guarantee your place. Limited walk-in spaces may be available, but these cannot be guaranteed.

Bookings open 7 days in advance through our online booking system.

Yes. Bookings can be cancelled or changed up to 12 hours before your session for a refund or credit.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your session. Late arrivals are welcome but your session will still end at the scheduled time.

Swimming & Sessions

How long are swim sessions?

Most swim sessions last 60-90 minutes, depending on the timetable.

Yes. To ensure everyone gets a fair chance to swim, we ask swimmers to leave the pool promptly at the end of their session. There is usually a 15 minute break between sessions to allow you to change and vacate.

Yes. Our timetable includes a mix of lane swimming, recreational swims and family sessions. Our open swims usually include a lane set aside for swimming laps, apart from the busiest of days.

Weather

What happens if it rains?

Ballinakill is an outdoor pool, so sessions go ahead in most weather — including rain!

Sessions will only be cancelled in severe weather conditions, such as lightning or high winds. If we need to cancel, you will be offered a refund or credit.

Children & Families

Can children use the pool?

Yes, children are very welcome. We have a toddler pool which is suitable for young children.

Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Younger children should be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult.

Facilities

Are there changing rooms?

Yes, changing facilities are available at the pool.

Limited storage may be available. Please avoid bringing valuables where possible.

Yes, parking is available right next to the pool and is more than ample for even the busiest days.

Yes, the pool is heated thanks to our solar panels to provide a comfortable swimming experience.
