Cancellations & Refunds

1. Booking Requirement

All swims must be booked in advance through the online booking system. This allows us to manage pool capacity and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Where space allows, limited walk-in bookings may be available, but these cannot be guaranteed.

2. Swim Sessions

The pool operates in timed sessions to allow fair access for all users and to enable cleaning and safety checks between swims.

• Standard swim sessions last 60–90 minutes

• The pool must be cleared promptly at the end of each session

Please arrive 10 minutes before your session to allow time for check-in.

Late arrivals may lose some of their swim time.

3. Advance Booking Window

Bookings open 7 days in advance and can be made online.

This allows regular swimmers to plan while ensuring fair access to sessions.

4. Cancellations

If you can no longer attend your session, please cancel your booking as soon as possible.

• Cancellations made more than 12 hours before the session will receive a full refund or credit

• Cancellations made within 12 hours may not be refunded

This helps ensure unused spaces can be offered to other swimmers.

5. Weather Policy

Ballinakill is an outdoor pool, and swimming takes place in most weather conditions.

Sessions will only be cancelled if conditions are considered unsafe (e.g. lightning or severe weather).

If the pool must cancel a session:

• swimmers will receive a refund or credit

6. Children & Supervision

Children under [insert age – typically 8 or 10] must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult.

Adult supervisors must remain in the pool area for the duration of the session.

7. Group Bookings

For school groups, clubs or private hire, please contact us in advance via [email/contact form].

8. Respect for the Pool

Ballinakill Outdoor Pool is a community facility. We ask all swimmers to:

• respect staff and lifeguards

• follow pool safety guidance

• leave the area clean and tidy

Failure to follow pool rules may result in removal from the session without refund.
