- General
Ballinakill Outdoor Swimming Pool (“the Pool”) is a community-operated facility managed for the benefit of local residents and visitors.
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be published on this website.
- Pool Use
All visitors must comply with pool rules, safety notices and instructions provided by pool staff and lifeguards.
Visitors use the facility at their own risk, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any person whose behaviour is considered unsafe, disruptive, abusive or inappropriate.
- Supervision of Children

- Cancellations and Refunds

Where possible, alternative sessions or credits may be offered in place of refunds.
- Weather and Pool Closures
As an outdoor facility, operations may be affected by weather conditions.
Swimming sessions may continue during light rain.
The Pool reserves the right to close, suspend or cancel sessions due to:
- Thunderstorms
- Lightning risk
- Severe weather
- Water quality concerns
- Maintenance requirements
- Health and safety considerations
No liability will be accepted for travel or other costs incurred as a result of cancellations.
- Personal Belongings
Visitors are responsible for their own belongings.
Ballinakill Outdoor Swimming Pool accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property brought onto the premises.
Valuable items should not be left unattended.
- Behaviour and Conduct
Visitors are expected to behave respectfully towards staff, volunteers and other users.
The following may result in removal from the facility:
- Abusive or threatening behaviour
- Intoxication or substance misuse
- Dangerous conduct
- Damage to property
- Failure to follow pool rules or lifeguard instructions
No refund will be provided where entry is refused or a visitor is removed for breaching these Terms and Conditions.
- Photography and Social Media
Visitors may take photographs for personal use, provided they respect the privacy and safeguarding of others.
Photography or filming that focuses on children who are not part of your group is not permitted.
Lifeguards are at their discretion to request that you do not take photography.
The Pool may occasionally take photographs or videos for promotional purposes. Where required, appropriate consent will be obtained.
- Events and Group Bookings
Additional terms may apply to private hire, school visits, club bookings, swimming lessons and special events.
Group organisers are responsible for ensuring participants comply with all pool rules and safety requirements.
- Website Use
While we make every effort to ensure information on our website is accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that all content will always be free from errors or omissions.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend or withdraw website content without notice.
- Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ballinakill Outdoor Swimming Pool shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of the website or the pool facilities.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
